Big Bang! 3 HR for Butler HS's Fleming Wednesday, April 8th , 2054 It was a good day for the Butler HS Tornado and an exceptional one for Kevin Fleming. The 14-year-old first baseman sent three bombs out of the park to help the Tornado beat the Des Moines HS Rockies, 16-7, at Black Bears Stadium. "When you're in the zone, the game really slows down," Fleming said when asked about his performance later. "I couldn't even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day." For the day, he scored 3 times, drove in 8 runs and smacked 4 hits in 5 at-bats. Kevin Fleming doubled in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Chris Brown in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Kevin William in the 5th, flied out in the 6th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Jake Ghoshal in the 7th. This season in 10 games, Fleming is batting .323 with 5 home runs, 11 RBIs and has scored 7 times. |
