The big game from the Wichita HS third baseman helped the Parrots take the victory, 5-4, over the Spanish Fork HS Jaguars. "I told myself not to press on the last one," he told reporters in the postgame press conference. "I knew I couldn't force it -- it has to be a nice easy swing." For the game, he collected 3 hits in 6 at-bats, drove in 3 and scored 3 runs. Corbin Kelly hit a solo-shot off Greg Bennett in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Greg Bennett in the 5th, struck out in the 6th, flied out in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off Rubén Delgado in the 10th. So far this season, Kelly has 7 home runs and a .298 batting average. |
