2050 HSNL Outstanding Pitcher Award Announced

The High School NL has heralded Joe Thorne of the Spanish Fork HS Jaguars as the #1 man on the mound for the 2050 campaign.

This year's Outstanding Pitcher Award winner stood out by running up an impressive 6-2 record, holding opposing hitters to a .209 batting average and posting a 1.47 ERA. The 17-year-old hurler tossed 67.1 innings, gave up 49 hits, fanned 78 and issued 23 walks.

He received 57 first place votes out of a possible 60. Cristóbal Flores of the Grand Rapids HS Summit finished second in voting with 2 first place votes, while Pat Lockyer of the Santa Ana HS Braves finished third with 1 first place vote.
