Mudcats Prevail, as Top 8 Round Goes to the Wire Wednesday, May 20th , 2054 The Bishop Verot HS Mudcats were paced by a strong offensive output from Danny Porter as they downed the Bishop Gorman HS Crusaders 3-2 to win the Top 8 Round. Bishop Verot HS won the final game by a score of 12-1 at Mudcats Ballpark to send themselves off to the Top 4 Round. "I wasn't so much focused on putting up big offensive numbers as I was about ensuring we won the games. So it's mission accomplished there," said left fielder Porter, who was named MVP. For the series, the MVP hit .412 with a .583 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 8 RBI and scored 5 runs. The Bishop Verot HS Mudcats don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Jeffersonville HS Trojans - Bryant HS Hornets series. That series is tied at 2 games apiece.
