Hit Parade: Zavala Gets Cycle Saturday, April 8th , 2051 It was a special day for Martin Zavala at Engines Ballpark today. Not only did Zavala's Rocky Point HS Eagles beat the Evans HS Knights 15-3, but the second baseman hit for the cycle along the way. The 14-year-old Zavala racked up 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run to get his name in the record books. For the game, he went 4-for-5 with 4 runs batted in and 2 runs scored. "He hit everything we threw," said Knights manager Bobby Brewster. "There was just no getting him out today." Speaking to the press after the game, Zavala said his goal for the day had been to look for "first pitch fastballs." "I got some good looks today," he said. Martin Zavala hit an RBI triple in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, walked in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Bob Beckley in the 8th and hit an RBI double in the 9th.
