Mercado Torches 76ers for 5 Hits Friday, April 14th , 2051 Rockford HS Astros third baseman Marcos Mercado went ballistic today with the bat. He hammered the Colorado Springs HS 76ers for 5 hits and drove Rockford HS to a 14-4 win over Colorado Springs HS at Field of the 76ers. Marcos Mercado singled in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Ed Burke in the 7th, hit a three-run home run off Rick Ramey in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
