Carter Bewilders Ragin Cajuns, 12-0
Tuesday, April 18th , 2051
The Saint Paul HS Ragin Cajuns were almost helpless today in their 12-0 loss to the Oliver Ames HS Tigers and hurler Tyrone Carter. Carter kept the Ragin Cajuns confused all game, spinning a 4-hit shutout.
"Tip your hat to Carter," Saint Paul HS manager Tony Morton said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night."
The 15-year-old right-hander had no walks and 3 strikeouts in a strong performance.
"It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Carter said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way."
This year in 5 starts, Carter has recorded 3 wins and absorbed 1 loss. He has pitched 39 innings, allowed 24 hits, struck out 37 and has a 2.77 ERA.
