Lucero Runs Hit String to 20 Straight Games Tuesday, April 18th , 2051 Julián Lucero's consecutive-game hitting streak has now climbed to 20 games. The Buchanan HS shortstop smacked 1 hit against the Newport News HS Paints in today's game at Lincolnville HS Fields, but he expressed mixed emotions about the streak after watching the Wizards drop the game, 8-7. "I feel good about the streak, but don't feel good when we lose," he told reporters. "I'd love to get a hit as well as a win next time so I can celebrate properly." Julián Lucero grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, grounded out in the 5th, struck out in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th. Lucero is batting at a .459 pace this season, picking up 39 hits in 85 at-bats with 1 home run, 17 RBIs and 24 runs scored. |
