Rhett Williams Drills 3 HR in One Game Saturday, April 19th , 2053 Rhett Williams went on an explosive hitting spree against the Buchanan HS Wizards at Havoc Stadium, launching a trio of blasts to help the Shelby HS Rockets win, 8-7. The first baseman finished 4-for-5 with 3 runs scored and 6 RBI. "It was just one of those days," Williams said in a postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball." Buchanan HS skipper Clarence Gallery said Williams was "locked-in." "We made some pretty good pitches," he said. "Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's just hot right now -- you've just got to tip your hat to him." Rhett Williams hit a solo-shot off Ken Bergeron in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Ken Bergeron in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Dan Hickey in the 7th and struck out in the 8th. So far this year, Williams is hitting .363 with 11 home runs. |
