Un-four-gettable: Oglethorpe Hits for Cycle

It was a special day for Christian Oglethorpe at Fort Worth HS Grounds today. Not only did Oglethorpe's Mountain Pointe HS Defenders beat the Fort Worth HS Turkeys 8-4, but the second baseman hit for the cycle along the way.

The 15-year-old Oglethorpe racked up 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run to get his name in the record books. For the game, he went 4-for-6 with 3 runs batted in and 2 runs scored.

"He hit everything we threw," said Turkeys manager James Mantle. "There was just no getting him out today."

Speaking to the press after the game, Oglethorpe said his goal for the day had been to look for "first pitch fastballs."

"I got some good looks today," he said.

Christian Oglethorpe grounded out in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, tripled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, grounded out in the 10th, grounded out in the 12th and hit a three-run home run off Mark Nichols in the 14th.

For the season Oglethorpe is hitting .280, batted in 18 runs with 1 home run and 11 runs scored.
