Steve García Bashes Three over the Wall Sunday, April 30th , 2051 Steve García went on an explosive hitting spree against the Loomis Chaffee Pelicans at Engines Ballpark today, launching a trio of blasts to lead the Evans HS Knights to the 27-7 win. The first baseman finished 4-for-5 with 4 runs scored and 7 runs batted in. "It was just one of those days," García said in a postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball." Loomis Chaffee skipper Cade Palen said García was "locked-in." "We made some pretty good pitches," he said. "Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's just hot right now -- you've just got to tip your hat to him." Steve García struck out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Bill Stephenson in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Earl Hill in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and hit a three-run home run off Arnie Sharp in the 7th. García currently has a .351 batting average with 40 hits, 11 homers, 32 RBIs, 16 runs scored and a .408 OBP. |
