Rutherford Holds Black Bears Scoreless Monday, May 4th, 2037 In an outstanding mound performance, Bishop Verot HS Mudcats starter Brian Rutherford fired a complete-game shutout against the Aurora HS Black Bears at Black Bears Ballpark today. Rutherford was the key to the Mudcats's 1-0 win. The 18-year-old right-hander was in high spirits on the mount for much of the game, his mood largely undented by the 5 hits and 4 walks he allowed. "5 hits?" he said with a laugh following the game. "Listen, I'd be happy with a 30-hitter as long as it was a shutout."
