Un-four-gettable: Escobar Hits for Cycle
Wednesday, May 24th , 2051
Carlos Escobar roughed up Germantown Red Devils pitching in a big way at Illinois Riverfront Park today, leading the El Paso to a 8-7 win.
With his parents and family watching from the stands, the 22-year-old center fielder put on a magnificent show, hitting for the cycle -- collecting a single, double, triple and home run in the same game.
"It was a good day for that to happen," a beaming Escobar said after the game. "I really got some good looks and delivered. Sometimes you're just on."
He finished his historic day with 4 hits in 4 at-bats, 1 RBI and 3 runs scored.
Carlos Escobar tripled in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off John Duffy in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th and singled in the 7th.
Escobar is currently batting .229 with 5 home runs and 8 RBIs.
