Wallace Jacks 3 into the Stands Sunday, July 2nd , 2051 The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the Roy Eagle Squadron today. Columbia left fielder Brandon Wallace tripled up on the home runs to propel the Mavericks to the 18-2 win at Eagle Squadron Ballpark. "We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," Roy manager said. "Wallace hit the heck out of the ball." In addition to the homers, Wallace collected 4 hits in 4 at-bats, 7 RBIs and scored 4 runs. "Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings." Brandon Wallace hit a two-run home run off Oliver DeMartino in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Oliver DeMartino in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Lucero Trevino in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th and walked in the 6th. This year Wallace is batting .306 with 64 hits, 21 home runs, 59 RBIs, 40 walks, .419 OBP and has scored 57 runs. |
