José Bijalva Rockets 3 Home Runs Thursday, July 6th , 2051 José Bijalva went yard three times in a Kingston Knights victory over the El Paso Diablos at Illinois Riverfront Park today. "I was in a groove," he said. "Every pitch they tossed up there looked like a grapefruit." For the day, the Kingston left fielder went 3-for-5 against El Paso with 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting that led the Knights to the 6-2 win. "I tell you what. I'm shocked because I didn't think that last ball had enough to get out," he told BNN reporters in the clubhouse following the game. "I thought it was just going to be a long out." José Bijalva hit a three-run home run off Pedro Canales in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Pedro Canales in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Jesús Rodríguez in the 7th and flied out in the 9th. This year Bijalva has hit 29 home runs and posted a .376 batting average. |
