Boyle Gone for Season in El Paso
Saturday, July 22nd , 2051
The doctors have spoken and Phillip Boyle of the El Paso Diablos didn't like what he heard. The 22-year-old closer is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Boyle sustained his season-ending injury during the Crandon Cardinals game yesterday at Illinois Riverfront Park. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the El Paso medical staff reported Boyle had a torn rotator cuff and would be absent from the lineup for at least 7 months.
To date Boyle has no saves with a 5-2 mark and 3.31 ERA. Opposing teams are hitting .169 against him.
