Morris Belts 3 HR for Townies Tuesday, July 25th , 2051 Anyone wearing a glove and sitting in the bleachers for today's Townies-Headhunters game had a good chance at snagging a home run ball. Charleston right fielder Tom Morris thrice sent eager fans scurrying to catch a souvenir, helping lead the Charleston to a 15-5 win over Watertown. "Hey, the three homers were great, but I'm just trying to help my ballclub," Morris said later. "I'm not going out there thinking I need another home run." Morris was 3-for-4 on the day with 7 runs batted in. Tom Morris hit a two-run home run off Spencer Short in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Henri Leriche in the 4th, struck out in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Gerard Olu in the 8th. This year Morris has hit 6 home runs and posted a .200 batting average. |
