Barrage of Hits Gets Martínez JCL Award Monday, August 3rd , 2043 It can be difficult for a young player to step out of the shadows and assert himself in the Jeff Cole League, but last week Albert Martínez of the San Juan Tigres reminded everyone just why he's here as he threw up numbers that made him an easy selection for Player of the Week. Martínez rocked opposing pitching for a .607 average (17-for-28), 1 home run and 4 RBIs to come away with the award. So far this season Martínez has 9 home runs and a .343 batting average. |
