JCL's Top Player, Bland of Hartford Monday, August 21st , 2051 Rob Bland is respected by most Hartford Darth Whalers fans for his no-frills style of play. The 21-year-old left fielder went about his business with vigor last week to grab the Jeff Cole League Player of the Week honors. He compiled a .636 average (7-for-11) with 3 home runs, 8 RBIs and 8 runs scored. This season Bland is batting .296 with 63 hits, 19 home runs, 46 RBIs, 34 walks, .400 OBP and has scored 60 runs. He has played in 97 games. |
