Shields Smashes 3 HR Thursday, August 24th , 2051 Charlie Shields was sending souvenirs to the sun gods all game long in the 22-6 Germantown Red Devils triumph at Ballpark of Elkins today. The 17-year-old put on a show for fans, launching not one, not two, but three home runs into the stands and powering the Red Devils past the Destin Beach Dogs. "One homer's good, two's great, three's out of sight," Shields told BNN reporters after the game. "I can't wait until next game. I really feel good at the plate." The second baseman went 4-for-6, rung up 9 RBIs and scored 3 runs on his record-setting day. Charlie Shields flied out in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Daniel Bannatyne in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off James Sawyer in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Shohei Nakamura in the 6th and hit an RBI double in the 7th. Batting .306 to date, Shields has 12 home runs and 30 RBIs. |
