3-Homer Hat Trick for Keith
Friday, August 25th , 2051
Anyone wearing a glove and sitting in the bleachers for today's Hot Sauce-Fat Cats game had a good chance at snagging a home run ball.
Washington DC catcher Charles Keith thrice sent eager fans scurrying to catch a souvenir, helping lead the Washington DC to a 19-7 win over Ottawa.
"Hey, the three homers were great, but I'm just trying to help my ballclub," Keith said later. "I'm not going out there thinking I need another home run."
Keith was 4-for-6 on the day with 5 RBI.
Charles Keith hit a solo-shot off António Cobellén in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Tom Gillies in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Geoffrey Lee in the 8th and struck out in the 9th.
This year Keith has 23 home runs and a .225 batting average.
