Godfrey Gets 5 Hits Monday, August 28th , 2051 Dave Godfrey did a number on the Commoners in the Charleston 22-4 victory today, and the number was 5. The Townies third baseman banged out 5 hits in 6 at-bats at Bear Stearns Memorial Field to lead his club past the Fort Collins Commoners. "I felt good in the batter's box today," he said later. "I had confidence in my swing and knew that it was there and that I could get the job done." Dave Godfrey singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, hit a two-run triple in the 4th, doubled in the 5th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Michael Spence in the 6th and flied out in the 8th.
