Davidson on Fire, 5-for-6 Against Roy
Tuesday, July 21st , 2054
After a 5-hit effort to lead Quincy's 19-6 victory over the Roy Eagle Squadron, first baseman Bob Davidson told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."
"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the BSA Rookie League-level is really something special."
The 18-year-old player earned his accolades at Eagle Squadron Ballpark with a spectacular 5-for-6 game against the Eagle Squadron.
"His swing is getting there," said Doughboys skipper Dave Huot, who spoke glowingly of Davidson after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Bob did that to perfection."
Bob Davidson singled in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, struck out in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
This season, Davidson has 17 home runs and a .314 batting average.
