Everhart Smacks 3 Out of the Park Sunday, August 9th , 2054 Sometimes it just isn't enough. Bob Everhart had an outstanding day at Townies Stadium for the Charleston Townies, ripping three home runs. Nonetheless, the Townies fell to the Pueblo Prairie Dogs, 12-11. Everhart had a feast at the plate, pounding everything thrown his way. The 17-year-old first baseman banged out 3 hits in 6 at-bats, scored 3 times and batted in 5 runs. Despite his sensational performance, the Townies were not able to hold off the Prairie Dogs. "Baseball is a funny game," Everhart said in the post-game interview, "You can't dwell on the reasons for the loss. I'm sure there will be days when I go 0-for-4 and we win. These things tend to even out." Bob Everhart flied out in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Max Pitzer in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Max Pitzer in the 6th, struck out in the 7th, struck out in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 10th. So far this year, Everhart is hitting .232 with 11 home runs. |
