Mendoza Bombs 3 HR Against Fort Collins Wednesday, August 12th , 2054 Logan Swans center fielder Paco Mendoza sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the Fort Collins Commoners, Mendoza told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Mendoza pushed the Swans past the Commoners, 7-2. To go along with the homers, he collected 4 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Mendoza told reporters after the game. Paco Mendoza hit a solo-shot off Carlos Gonzáles in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Carlos Gonzáles in the 4th, struck out in the 5th and hit a two-run home run off José García in the 7th. Mendoza is hitting .396 this year with 9 home runs and 19 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .482, 7 walks and scored 14 times. |
