Jackson Goes 5-for-6 Against Ottawa
Friday, August 21st , 2054
After a 5-hit effort to lead Columbia's 14-7 victory over the Ottawa Fat Cats, left fielder Pat Jackson told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the BSA Rookie League-level is really something special."

The 18-year-old player earned his accolades at Fat Cats Park with a spectacular 5-for-6 game against the Fat Cats.

"His swing is getting there," said Mavericks skipper Artie Jordan, who spoke glowingly of Jackson after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Pat did that to perfection."

Pat Jackson singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, singled in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Jesús Navarro in the 8th and hit an RBI triple in the 9th.

Jackson is currently batting .267 with 6 home runs, 24 RBIs and 20 runs scored. He has 40 hits in 150 at-bats.
