Diablos Move on to Round 2 Saturday, September 5th , 2054 The El Paso Diablos proved to be too much to handle for the Hartford Darth Whalers in the Round 1, and a sweep was the end result. El Paso punched its ticket to the Round 2 on the strength of a 14-11 win in the deciding game, which wrapped up the series 4-0. El Paso third baseman Chad Metcalf, named series MVP, was instrumental in the sweep, as he mashed Hartford pitching to the tune of a .556 average, with a .619 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 12 RBI and scored 5 runs. The El Paso Diablos don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Santa Anna Dukes - Atlantic City War Dogs series. That series is tied at 2 games apiece. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
