Great Season For Moon, Wins JCL Pitcher of the Year Award
Monday, September 27th , 2055
It was a glorious year for Oscar Moon of the Kingston Knights.
He finished the season with 19 victories and only 1 loss, with an impressive 2.79 ERA. The talented Knights pitcher started 34 games and struck out 177 batters in 174.1 innings and won the Jeff Cole League Pitcher of the Year Award.
"It means a lot," Moon said. "I hadn't really had a chance to sit down and think about it yet. It feels good right now. I can't really put it into words, but I'm sure later on tonight when I have a chance to sit down with my family and think about it, I'll have some words for it. But right now, I'm just happy that it happened this year."
He received 28 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Alden Walters of the El Paso Diablos finished second in voting, while Bill Kurucz of the Hartford Darth Whalers finished third.
