Smith Slams 3 Homers for Darth Whalers
Thursday, April 1st , 2055
Hartford Darth Whalers first baseman Randy Smith had a magnificent game against the Germantown Red Devils, rocketing three balls out of Ballpark of Elkins to help the Darth Whalers win, 12-8.
"I got some good pitches to hit and I creamed them," he said after the game. "The first was a big, fat fastball and the last two were hanging curves. All three were mistakes."
For the game, Smith went 3-for-5 with 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"There's a fine line between hitting home runs and line drives," Hartford manager Brody James said later. "Seems like Randy found his home run stroke today."
Randy Smith hit a solo-shot off Ernesto Salazar in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Ernesto Salazar in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, flied out in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Curt Smith in the 9th.
