Going Once! Twice! Gone Again! 3 HR for Schmidt Thursday, June 22nd , 2051 Every now and then, everything just comes together. Robby Schmidt discovered that today at Overlords Ballpark, as he smashed three home runs during the 14-6 Palmyra Overlords win over the Brunswick Squares. "I got three balls to hit and nailed all three of them," the Palmyra first baseman said in his postgame interview. "The first was a hanging curve, the second was right down the middle and the last one was a good pitch, but I guessed right and put the wood to it." Schmidt finished the day with 3 hits in 4 at-bats and 4 RBIs. Robby Schmidt walked in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Jorge Miranda in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Michael Cunningham in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Bruce Pinard in the 8th. Thus far this year Schmidt is hitting .338 with 25 home runs, 69 RBIs and 58 runs scored. |
