Brunswick Squares third baseman Gerald Chapa left the Charleston pitching staff in ruins at Ballpark of Amity Gardens, beating the Townies, 14-4, with a prodigious three-home run performance.
"The last one was totally unexpected," Chapa told reporters at the press conference following his big game. "I just wanted to make good contact, never thinking I would get a home run, and bang, I got number three."
For the game, the Brunswick third baseman had 5 hits in 5 at-bats, drove in 6 and scored 4 runs.
Gerald Chapa hit a solo-shot off Rizaldo Padoga in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Rizaldo Padoga in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, doubled in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 8th.
This season, Chapa is batting .362 with 54 hits, 13 home runs, 38 RBIs, .407 OBP and has scored 31 runs.
