The future looks extremely bright for José Rivas. At the age of 22, many players are still trying to find their way in BSA Rookie League.
Rivas has not only found his way, he's already established himself as one of the game's brightest stars, today being named the winner of the Mike Bryant League Most Valuable Player Award.
"I didn't expect to hit .308 this year, that's for sure," the first baseman said.
The Birmingham Bulls star also put up a .416 on-base percentage this year, with 115 hits, 17 doubles, 1 triple, 46 home runs, 101 RBIs and 83 runs scored.
He received 27 first place votes out of a possible 28. Robby Schmidt of the Palmyra Overlords finished second in voting, while Elijah Gilmore of the Fort Collins Commoners finished third with 1 first place vote.
