Myles Slaughter of the Saint John's Red Storm had a fine season this year and today he accepted the Dick Howser Award for 2051.

The 19-year-old left fielder put up a .393 average and a .493 on-base percentage, piling up 68 hits, 3 doubles, no triples, 23 home runs, 49 RBIs and 44 runs scored.

He received 57 first place votes out of a possible 74. Wayne Butler of the Florida Gators finished second in voting with 1 first place vote, while Myles Clements of the Duke Blue Devils finished third.
